The 42nd anniversary Bath Half Marathon took place on the 17th March with around 8,500 runners and an estimated 20,000 spectators lining the route including bands & many volunteers and organisations in support.
This year’s race posed some additional challenges as in order to return the race to its pre Covid traditional March date it took place just 5 months since the previous event.
Bath Cancer Unit Support Group runners gathered at the BCUSG stand before and after the race in a very muddy (due to recent heavy rain) runner’s village.
A big thank you to our 5 runners who all made the finish and raised a fantastic £3,101 in sponsorship for BCUSG.
The 2024 race was the fourth time in succession that Ian McPherson has run the Bath Half in aid of BCUSG and in total has now personally raised an incredible £5,613 in sponsorship. Many thanks to Ian who has already put his name forward to do it all again for BCUSG in 2025.
The next Bath Half Marathon is scheduled to take place on the 16th March 2025 and if you or someone that you know is interested in running for BCUSG and helping us to make a real difference for local cancer patients, then please register your interest by e-mailing: fundraising@bcusg.org
