Scalp Coolers are appreciated.

We have today received a letter from Caroline Gilleece, Matron of oncology/haematology and a trustee of this charity, thanking us for the donation of Scalp Coolers. These were brought into service in January and and have been much appreciated by patients undergoing chemotherapy at the unit. Here are some comments:

My first session today so fingers crossed! I’m most grateful to have had the opportunity to try this equipment.

Scalp cooling has been an absolute godsend! As a young woman the thought of hair loss is one of the worst parts of having chemotherapy. Scalp cooling gives me the chance to minimise hair loss as much as possible. I’m four weeks into treatment and although I’ve got some shedding happening, people have commented on how well my hair is doing. I’m so grateful to be able to have the scalp cooling.

It’s great that I’ve been able to choose to have scalp cooling during my treatment. It’s given me peace of mind that I hopefully won’t loose all my hair and my regrowth has been protected by scalp cooling.

I was grateful to be offered the chance to try scalp cooling which helped me keep most of my hair during chemotherapy. i found I could endure the freezing head and was relieved not to loose my hair as a side effect of treatment.

Thank you so much for the scalp cooling as it has helped me not to loose my hair which is very important to me.
