The Devonshire Arms Raises £981 for Bath Cancer Unit Support Group
Published: 28th August 2025
The Devonshire Arms pub in Bath has raised an incredible £981 for the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG) in memory of a much-loved team member who sadly passed away from cancer.
Inspired by a suggestion from Ben, son of trustee of BCUSG Mike Coombs, the pub rallied and organised a race night together with a collection in support of BCUSG. With the help the BCUSG fundraising bucket, the local community showed their generosity throughout the evening.
On August 28th 2025, landlords Donna & Rich Blagdon proudly handed over the collecting bucket containing the proceeds to BCUSG.
“We are so grateful to Donna, Rich, Ben, and everyone at The Devonshire Arms for their wonderful support. This donation will help us continue funding vital equipment and facilities for cancer patients at the RUH in Bath,” said Alan, Fundraising Lead for BCUSG.

Thank you for visiting The Bath Cancer Unit Support Group website. The Charity is run entirely by volunteers, meaning there are no paid staff.
Approximately 95% of all monies raised goes straight into equipment and resources of the Cancer Departments at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
The other 5% is spent on vital administration costs. During the past 33 years, our enthusiastic volunteers have raised over £6 million.
