Southwick Fundraising Events Raise Over £1,000 for Bath Cancer Unit Support Group
Published: 3rd September 2025
Southwick, Wiltshire – September 2025 – Two successful fundraising events held in Southwick during August have raised a fantastic total of £1,032.15 for the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group (BCUSG), a charity dedicated to supporting cancer services at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
The first event, a garage sale with refreshments and a raffle, was organised by Linda Dowsett along with her family and friends, raising £402. The second, an afternoon tea for local WI groups, complete with a bring-and-buy sale and raffle, was hosted by Southwick WI President Barbara Vincent, her family, and the WI Ladies, raising £630.15.
The Trowbridge branch of BCUSG thanks both Linda Dowsett and Barbara Vincent, as well as all participants, for their invaluable support. The funds raised will go towards helping BCUSG provide vital equipment, enhanced facilities, and services that support cancer patients—projects that are not covered by NHS funding.
The Bath Cancer Unit Support Group is a registered charity (No. 298872) dedicated to raising funds to enhance cancer treatment in Bath and the surrounding areas. Entirely volunteer-run, BCUSG works alongside the Royal United Hospital Bath to fund vital equipment and services that improve patient care.

From our chairman.
Thank you for visiting The Bath Cancer Unit Support Group website. The Charity is run entirely by volunteers, meaning there are no paid staff.
Approximately 95% of all monies raised goes straight into equipment and resources of the Cancer Departments at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.
The other 5% is spent on vital administration costs. During the past 33 years, our enthusiastic volunteers have raised over £6 million.
