Rotarians raise funds for children’s charity and new Frome cancer unit

Frome Selwood Rotary Club raised over £1,500 at a recent charity evening, with funds being donated to a children’s charity and towards a new cancer unit for Frome.

A total of 83 Rotarians and their friends enjoyed a cuisine evening at Chapmanslade Village Hall, sampling foods from France, Greece, Mexico and Nigeria.

“With a starter, main course and pudding from each country, everyone ended up well fed,” said treasurer Geoff Cardnell.

From the proceeds of the evening, £200 was donated to Hope and Homes – a charity which works to get children out of orphanages and into family homes – and £1,000 was donated to the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group for the creation of a new Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment Centre at Frome Medical Centre.
